I had to spend the day at the university packing up my office, having a few meetings. When I get back, I’ll be in a new office, fully immersed in a new department – this seems like a great time to have a different, extended experience to make a slow, easy transition.
Samantha is here to see us off and to help me pack – I listen as she tells me how I should pack my jewelry and how I should take this jacket but not that one – while I know she, too, has done her share of traveling, I marvel at her definite views about what will work and what won’t. I will miss her so much.
